We had a class discussion about communities and our class is called "The Town of Sweets"... um that makes my tummy rumble just thinking about all the yummy stuff we could eat this year. We each got to pick up an application for a "Town of Sweets" job. Our town needs a mayor, secretary, treasurer, a few police officers, a couple librarians, and a vet. If we decide we are interested in one of those jobs we need to fill out our application this weekend so that on Monday we can hand it in.
Later we spent some time taking a local assessment so that Mrs. Jenkins knows what we already know and what we need to learn. Boy are we glad those two tests are out of the way!
To end the day we watched Mr. Fry take the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge and then played hard on the nice, warm playground.
A few things to remember:
We need mom or dad to sign our agendas every night. This weekend some of us need to finish up our circle and sort math, our math corrections page, english page 2, and a spelling packet. None of us had all of this to do, but some of us had a couple things off the list to finish up.
It's been a GREAT first week! Have a SUPER weekend and remember I will have treats for anyone who completes something on the website. Grammar has been added to the calendar page and Math is on the blog page.
