Yep! Kisten's shirt just about sums it up! It was one of the BEST days ever! We started out at the Historical Museum in Wichita. Boy did we learn a lot. The kids did an AMAZING job listening to both ladies who helped us while we were there. Tomorrow they will be bringing home a FREE FAMILY PASS for your family to use sometime. I would highly suggest to put it on your summer to do list. There were so many things we did not have time to see and the kids were very interested in all they were learning!
After we finished up there we headed over to Cow Town for the remainder of our day! We ate lunch in the Saloon and then were about to tour the grounds, ride in a covered wagon, learn all about life in the 1800's, check out the school, and so much more. During our free time some of got just a little carried away, but once I reminded them of my expectations they were much better. I heard some really good imaginative play today as they churned butter, did some laundry the old fashioned way with a washboard and all, and checked out an outhouse.
Enjoy some of the pictures I was able to get and hopefully the night of NO HOMEWORK was a nice break too!
Sorry this a later post, but boy do my evenings go fast!
I hope to encourage the children in my classroom to love learning the way I do. Through engaging them in meaningful activities I am certain they will develop a curiosity that will spark their imagination and cause them to want discover all they can while in third grade. I hope to be able to share, with those of you at home, everyday what we have accomplished in the classroom! Trust me, we will be doing AMAZING things!
