What a great way to raise money for ALS. Enjoy the video! Brrr..that ice water was cold!!
A few updates from today:
Please be sure to check your child's homework folder each night. Tonight they might have a "Green" apple paper and a Reading sheet 3 and 4 to finish up. They are being paid $1.00 a day (classroom money) each time they turn in ALL homework and have a parent sign their agendas. I am working hard to keep you informed of what is happening in our room, so please help them come to school with their homework completed.
We had lots of fun playing a "Name Bingo" game today! I'm not sure if it was the bingo game or if it was the M & M markers they liked better. Either way though they did a GREAT job with it. We also reviewed our vocabulary words and checked out what life was like in the actual GOLD RUSH era by watching the video posted at the bottom of our "Story of the Week" tab.
In math it was the term "digit" that tricked us some, but after today we all understand what it means. Our random numbers CD really is keeping us on our toes!
Yesterday I was nominated by Mrs. Elder to complete the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. My class was kind enough to help me out with it today! They all wanted to help pour the ice cold water, go figure! We learned all kinds of things about ALS and how this particular challenge works. Several of them have been challenged as well so if they are in the process of participating I wish them the BEST of LUCK!
I hope to encourage the children in my classroom to love learning the way I do. Through engaging them in meaningful activities I am certain they will develop a curiosity that will spark their imagination and cause them to want discover all they can while in third grade. I hope to be able to share, with those of you at home, everyday what we have accomplished in the classroom! Trust me, we will be doing AMAZING things!
