Next, we headed to our EXPLORATION PLACE science lesson with Mr. Finn. He reviewed acids and bases with us and then let us all write HYPOTHESIS. We had to predict what would happen to our seeds if we planted them using water, a neutral, vinegar, an acid, and baking soda, a base. On Thursday we will get to see how each of these things affected the growth of our seeds. Our if then statements were really good and I am anxious to see how close our hypothesis are to the actual outcome of the experiment.
After science we learned all about Koi fish and the history behind them. We discussed how the fish swimming upstream symbolizes challenges we face in our lives. Several kiddos wondered how the mythical dragons would look once the fish make it to the top of the waterfall. After learning all about them we made our very own to hang in our classroom. Don't forget about our LIVING MUSEUM coming up. I am going to have to rearrange our schedule a bit because of the early release on Wednesday! GO CRUSADERS! This museum project has kept us very busy during Reading so I am sure hoping that we are all ready to go. I will send a new note home tomorrow with exact times so that families can attend if they are able to.
This afternoon we worked quickly on our math centers so we could go check out the book fair! We did an activity reviewing area and perimeter with cheese-its. It was a good reminder that area means the space inside of something and perimeter means the distance around something. After completing the packet we ate the cheese-its and had a good snack for sure!
Tonight we may need to finish:
1. journal page 169-170
2. spelling morning work
3. noun booklet
4. area and perimeter cheese it activity
Don't forget conferences are this week. If I didn't see you tonight then I will tomorrow! Also early release on Wednesday due to the CRUSADER BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM! Also Wednesday morning we will host our living museum so come out and watch if you can!
Have a great evening!
