Take a look at what one of our SPORTS PEOPLE turned out like. The kids had a chance to make a basketball person, a baseball person, a softball person, or a volleyball person last week. They worked on them throughout the week. Their projects helped decorate our hallways and highlighted our "sports" theme this year. They also gave me a chance to see how well everyone followed directions, cut, colored, and glued. If you are in the building check out the third grade hallway! There are lots of GREAT looking projects! The one below was made by Kate Haines.
Today seemed to fly by with all we had going on in our room! Reading centers were busy as ever. The kids may have a sentence strip activity they are finishing up with this evening. I reminded them to take their Reading books home, but if they forgot they can always listen to the story on the website to help them finish putting the sentences in order. Some of them also had a spelling worksheet to get done. We did one side of it together, but they need to complete page 4. Please help them remember that their spelling test is on Thursday this week since we do not have school on Friday. We are starting to get in to a routine, and they are all doing a good job of understanding what I expect from them during center time. We do need to work on how to best use our time. I don't want any of them coming home with tons of homework. If your child seems to be doing this, encourage them to stay on task at school for me please. With the temperatures as hot as they have been feel free to send a water bottle with them to school. I want to make sure they are staying hydrated and getting lots to drink, especially after recess. Thanks for your continued support and hel
I hope to encourage the children in my classroom to love learning the way I do. Through engaging them in meaningful activities I am certain they will develop a curiosity that will spark their imagination and cause them to want discover all they can while in third grade. I hope to be able to share, with those of you at home, everyday what we have accomplished in the classroom! Trust me, we will be doing AMAZING things!
