After our catch up time we went to exploration place science where we learned all about anemometers and how to make them. The kids struggled at first in finding a way to build their devices so that they could actually measure the wind speed, but after a few hints from Ms. Greer, they figured it out. Then we worked more with learning all we can about whales and reviewing our story for the week. In math, Mr. Dieker, came over and helped us with centers since I had to leave. We began with DIVISION! Some of us thought this was going to be SUPER HARD, but soon found out that we already know quite a bit about it!
Today we had an AMAZING day, with the exception of having to stay inside for recess. BOY OH BOY, I have decided these indoor recesses make for a long afternoon for some of us! I will be SUPER happy when the snow is melted and we can get back outside to burn some of our energy! Keep sending heavy coats, because just as soon as it is gone we are OUTSIDE for sure!
In reading, we made a cool booklet reviewing the vocabulary words. We had lots of fun drawing pictures of what the words mean and finding rhyming words to go along with each one of them. Remember that tomorrow is our selection test, so the kids may want to listen to the story again tonight or reread it to mom or dad. We went through a practice quiz today and I was SUPER proud of how well they did! I am bound and determined to see more 100%'s on these silly tests!
In math we took a crack at division with me helping this time and again they did OUTSTANDING! I am loving that they all get so excited about finding the correct answer and they are really starting to understand why the answers might be correct.
Tonight they may have to finish up:
-some late work
-getting their vocab booklet signed
-journal page 83-84
- clever connection morning work page
Have a GREAT evening!
