We started the morning HUNTING and SEARCHING for a Kansas city that started with EVERY single letter of the alphabet. Trust me there is a city out there that starts with X so don't let them give up tonight when they are trying to finish that page. Next, we reviewed what a SENTENCE is and worked on an English page together and then before we knew it, it was time to head to our EXPLORATION PLACE Science lesson. During that we learned that NONE of our shrimp hatched and we talked about why that might have been the case. Sometimes those dang experiments don't have the result we were hoping for but we learned something in the process anyway.
Next, we began looking at our story for this week and watched a six minute video clip of Gertrude Ederle's accomplishments. Man oh man could she ever swim! We tried moving our arms like you would when you were doing the freestyle in a pool for only a minute and some of us were really tired. Gertrude swam for over 14 hours to cross the English Channel. We decided she was one tough gal for sure.
We sqeezed in our Spelling pretest right before lunch and then spent the rest of the day with our show and tell and our technology AR party! We loved the popcorn and hearing about all of the treasures everyone brought to school!
Tonight they may have to finish:
1. A Kansas city morning work page
2 An English workbook page over sentences
3. They need to show mom or dad a note about our living museum
4. They also need an empty kleenex or cereal box here by Friday please.
Have a GREAT weekend!
