We also worked more with the story for this week, "Wings". During our center time we located our 10 important sentences and put them in the order we found them as we were reading. We also listened to the story on our website, played a couple of pronoun games, and then clicked on the calendar tab and explored the "listening to stories online" green button. This is a site where we can choose several different stories to hear. This might be a GREAT site to check out since our AR deadline is QUICKLY approaching. We all need 4 AR points by February 28th and although it is hard to believe that is NEXT WEEK! YIKES! I did write in EVERYONE'S agenda today how many points they had as of THIS MORNING! Be sure to check it out and encourage your son or daughter to be reading. Our party will be an ICE CREME SUNDAE party and trust me NO ONE will want to miss it!
In math we worked with VERSATILES, which are just another fun way for us to review different skills we have been practicing. Today our review was working with PROTRACTORS and measuring all types of ANGLES. Everyone did a SUPER job with this. We also met in groups and ordered several items from a PIZZA HUT menu. We had to find the prices in the menus, total the bill, and then in the end take our GROUP'S order too. I am always looking for REAL WORLD math examples and after several weeks of using a DIllons ad, we graduated to a Pizza Hut menu! :-)
Tonight they may have to finish:
1. a doghouse conversion morning work page
2. the 10 important sentence work from Reading
3. the versatile angle page from math
*I told them if the menu activity was not done they could finish it up at school tomorrow.
*Their pop bottle athlete should be finished
*If they have not qualified for AR they need to be reading
Have a super evening!
