When we got back to school, we made hot chocolate and enjoyed a few Christmas goodies. Then the kids listened to "Twas the Night Before Christmas" and each time they heard the word AND they passed the gift they were holding to the RIGHT. At the end of the story, they opened the gift on their lap and since EVERYONE received a book, they could exchange with a friend if they had already read the one they opened. Our NEW AR CELEBRATION GOAL started today so READ, READ, READ at least a little over break!
Next, we took a quick trip OUTSIDE to build a SNOWMAN and have a SNOWBALL fight. Boy was this FUN! It was a pretty nice day to enjoy the snow and afterall who wouldn't want a chance to hit their teacher with a snowball or two. The kiddos quickly learned that Miss Jamison has some mean snowball throwing skills and Mrs. Jenkins can run just a little faster then they thought.
To finish the morning up, we made CHRISTMAS AROUND THE WORLD ornaments to hang on trees at home. We thought this would be a SUPER way to wrap up our unit and send them home with something special.
This afternoon it was an all school movie and then our annual sing-a-long. What a NEAT way to end the year at school. I hope you all have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and a BLESSED HOLIDAY. Be sure to spend time with your families, hug your loved ones, and rest a little yourself. 2017 is sure to come in with a BANG and time seems to fly a little faster each year.
