I promise that we are almost through this terrible testing! I know it is NOT the most fun thing about 3rd Grade, but every 3rd grader in Wellington, KS is required to do it. So keep pushing through super students! Today we tested our math automaticity! Tests weren't long, but there were quite a few of them to get through!
While we finished up with the reading tests, we also worked on 10 Important Sentences from Boomtown. While Mrs. Jenkins read the story aloud, we had to follow along and put 10 sentences from the story in order. Mrs. Jenkins said everyone did a super job with this! Some of us even had our BRAIN kissed because we listened so well that we were able to share with the class the next sentence we needed to glue on our paper! This story is teaching us an awful lot about how important it is to never give up. Amanda was a smart young lady and not only did she help her family, but she had ideas for several other people coming to town!
We also completed our vocabulary dictionaries and played vocabulary memory to help us learn our words from Boomtown. I must say, I'm pretty impressed with how well you guys can use a glossary! These two ways are only two of the ways we will practice our vocabulary in 3rd grade. Our website also has a few vocabulary games you can use to review! I'm looking forward to baking pies tomorrow, because you guys showed me you can handle a fun treat tomorrow with this hard work!
Our math testing is getting finished up this week, so we decided to start learning our 2's in multiplication. We will have a multiplication test EVERY Friday so we can learn our facts. Every time you pass your test, you will move up a level. If you learn your 2s-9s by the end of the year, you will get to enjoy a special lunch with me and Miss Jamison!
Have a fantastic evening, and don't forget to study your spelling words because our first test is TOMORROW!
