Once this was finished we reviewed our spelling words and worked on a workbook page using those words and before we knew it, it was time for our morning recess. After recess we came in and began working on a Statue of Liberty webquest. We are trying to prove just how big the statue really is. Today we learned that for some of us the Statue's right arm is 24 times as long as ours. WOW! We were excited to learn that what we mean by this is that it would take 24 of our arms to be the same length as just one of hers. Tomorrow we are going to continue this discovery and actually lay out something that is as long as her arm so we can really understand the difference in our size and hers. TOMORROW is our SELECTION TEST over the story so everyone might want to reread it this evening or listen to it again on our website. We are really working to have the opportunity to walk to BRAUMS so we need those 100% to roll in!
After lunch we spent some time talking about the way we have been treating one another. Boy oh boy have some of us been rather rude to our friends. This is a tough one for me because I know they don't mean what they say sometimes, but today enough was enough and we had a class meeting about our behavior and then rearranged our desks. Tomorrow is a new day and I am CERTAIN they will all remember our talk so I expect them to also remember how they themselves would like to be treated. That Golden Rule is so important here in the Town of Sweets.
Tonight they might need to finish:
-their paper for Mrs. Zeka
-a spelling workbook page
-a lattice multiplication worksheet
-a ninja morning work paper
Remember they can start bringing their $5 for our Wingnuts field trip. They also can start signing up for Talent Show auditions and this Thursdsay, April 30th is our AR cutoff for the next celebration. We are getting busier by the day so hang on because the next few weeks are going to be EXCITING for sure!
Have a GREAT evening!
