Today we were hard at work again! It seemed like we got so much accomplished that their little minds should have been tired by 3:25. The sun was finally out and the temperature up a bit so we got to outside for lunch recess and for afternoon recess! YEA! Those indoor recesses can get pretty old pretty quickly! Please make sure they are bringing coats and dressing to go out because if we can get outside we will for sure!
In reading we spent a lot of time discussing the differences between made up stories and fantasies. While they are both FICTION, those fantasies seem to stretch realism just a tad bit more. Ikarus Jackson can actually fly which we all find fascinating, however, we also know that flying is one of those super human qualities that would only be found in a fantasy! We reviewed our vocabulary words, reread the story, and even took a class quiz over questions we may see on our selection test tomorrow! Remember, if 8 of us can score a PERFECT 100% we all get an extra recess and if 16 of us reach that PERFECT score we get to walk to BRAUM'S! I think we are READY to reach if not exceed our class goal. It might be a good idea to listen to the story one more time tonight so it is fresh on our minds tomorrow.
Our colorful sentences in English are getting better and better! Prepositions kinda trip us up some, but boy are nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs getting easier and easier. We really work hard to write really colorful sentences when we get to eat the M & M's after our sentences are checked!
In math we did a lot of review today. We needed to look at polyhedrons a little more closely. That seems to be what stumped most of us on the math test. We discussed them again today and then went back to work on multiplication. Our three digit by two digit multiplication is getting better all of the time! I know we are gonna knock the socks off of those fourth grade teachers next year. If your kiddo is struggling a little at home remind them that all of the people in one house MUST talk to all of the people in the other house. This seems to be helping them at school!
Tonight at home they may need to finish:
1. Journal page 155-156
2. Spelling alphabetizing sheet
3. Reading workbook page 3-4
4. Elephant morning work page
Hope you had a wonderful evening!
