After our morning jobs were taken care of and most of us had finished our morning work page, we jumped right in to working on our READING CENTERS. At one center we worked on our GEOMETRIC SHAPE design we started with Mr. Chalmers. At another center we listened to the story and then took an EXTREME PLACES quiz off of our website. The last center each KANSAS DAY group worked with me to plan their presentation, finish their posters, and getting all ready for the PRACTICE RUN tomorrow. Each group has REALLY IMPRESSED me. They have worked extremely hard to figure out a creative way to teach the others all about their topic. Our pioneer group is having the class make butter. We have another group having the class make Kansas maps out of graham crackers. Dr. James Naismith is the topic of another group because most of us LOVE basketball, a game he invented! We are being taught all about three Division 1 Universities in Kansas from a group. The Chisholm Trail, Kansas symbols, and sunflowers are a few other topics we have become EXPERTS on and are excited to share with the class. Tomorrow each group will present to our class and then on Friday we will teach Mrs. Elder's side all we have learned! What a fun way to celebrate KANSAS DAY this week!
In math we reviewed GEOMETRY terms and learned a lot about TURNS. We played a game of QUIZMO and then took care of a journal page.
Tonight they may have to finish:
-the ABC order Spelling page
-Journal page 131-132
-study the study guide for our Reading selection test tomorrow
-find their costume for KANSAS day presentations
Have a SUPER evening and ENJOY the nice weather!
PS - clues will be posted LATER tonight! :=)
