After this we did a little more research on volcanoes. We are hoping to finish the research up tomorrow. We reread the story "Volcanoes" and discussed all of the information in it. SELECTION TESTS will be taken tomorrow. Be sure to remind everyone to review the vocabulary of the week tonight so they can ALL earn 100%'s on the test. We also in reading worked more with comparing and contrasting which is our skill this week.
To end the morning we had our very own class election! After learning about the election process we voted by holding a taste testing election. Our Republican candidate was Coke and our Democratic candidate was Pepsi. After tallying the ballots the Democratic party won by a landslide with 65% of the votes. Republicans earned only 35% of the votes so to celebrate the election we held a campaign party and finished off the product!
This afternoon we were busy making play dough so that on Thursday we could mold volcanoes and each have our very own mini eruption. We were surprised how much flour it took for our play dough to not be sooooo sticky. We practiced with forming the dough today but our REAL VOLCANOES will be made on Thursday! We have some real good kitchen help and everyone did a SUPER job getting this made!
We began looking at our pattern blocks today in math and will finish that lesson tomorrow!
Tonight we might have to finish:
-a noun town morning work page
-reading workbook page 148
Have a SUPER evening and THANK YOU so much for sharing your children with me! Every day is an adventure for sure! I absolutely love their enthusiasm for learning!
