We arrived at Lawrence Dumont Stadium and unloaded our coolers, found our seats, and then checked out all of the cool things going on as the players warmed up! We need to give a HUGE SHOUT OUT to all of our parent volunteers because we had quite a few parents accompany us which made our groups a lot smaller and gave us a chance to do a lot more then if Miss J. and myself were in charge of the entire class. The game started at 11 and the Wingnuts started off with a bang! They could hit the ball far, run fast around the bases, and SCORE, SCORE, SCORE! They were in the lead the ENTIRE game!
At 11:30 we took a break from our seats long enough to go grab our sack lunches and then eat in the shade, eat back in our seats where we could watch the game, or just eat on the way in between our seats and our lunch area. Kids did any one of those three things but regardless they all got food and they all got something to drink which was the important thing.
After lunch we cheered some more and some of us checked out the concession stand while others of us hit the souvenir stand. Once the game ended we got our picture taken with Logan Watkins who is the grandson of Soko Ybarra and who used to play for the Chicago Cubs! GO CUBS GO! We also got to get a class picture with the opposing team, the FRIENDS FALCONS and then run the bases. Out of all the schools there, Eisenhower was the only school who got to go on the field, get autographs, and run the bases. These people must know how GREAT Eisenhower kids are or we wouldn't have been on the field either. By the end of the game we were all pretty tired, but boy was it a FUN day!
Thursday is the LAST day to earn the AR points for our FISHING TRIP! Whoever qualifies will be fishing on Friday with Miss J. and I. READ, READ, READ so you can ALL go with me to Donut Bay!
See you in the morning!
