We checked off spelling and calendar books pretty quickly. Then we joined with Mrs. Jenkins' class to do a PearDeck review before our Selection Test. What About Me? is a tricky story, but our selection test scores are looking pretty good so far. I'm glad everyone aced their SEQUENCING activities the past 2 weeks. It helps to know how to put a story in order!
We did our bartering activity in the 3rd Grade marketplace, and I think everyone left with a pretty good trade! It was fun to watch your bartering skills. Last on our checklist was our Daily 5 choices. I worked with a few students on their personal narratives. If you can tell me 1 good way to write a lead to your story, leave it in the comments for an extra dollar!
In math, we are working on kilograms and grams on a scale. We solved WORD PROBLEMS today using the CUBES method. C stands for CIRCLE the numbers, U stands for UNDERLINE the question, B stands for BOX the clue words, E stands for EQUATION, and S stands for SOLVE! Our menus need to be getting completed pretty soon because next week is the end of our 9 weeks!
Tomorrow will be fun for INTEREST DAY and the IKE PARADE to Brookdale. I can't wait to hear your patriotic song you've been working on with Mrs. Thompson. See you tomorrow!
