Countdown to summer!
This is so hard to believe!
Where has this year gone?
Where has this year gone?
My name is Mrs. Jenkins, and I teach 3rd grade at Eisenhower Elementary. I love spending time with my family and being outdoors. I have been married to my husband for 25 years and have two great kids. Ryan (23) is going to be a Newman Jet again this year and will be doing his student teaching this fall! I am super excited to hear all about his classroom! Kailey (21) is going to be a Friends Falcon this year. I will be sure and tell you about every home run she hits! She is also studying to be a teacher so hopefully before long they will both have their very own classrooms!
I attended Butler County Community College for one year and Emporia State University for 2 1/2 years where I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Upon the completion of my Bachelors degree, I resided in Topeka, Kansas and taught middle school for 2 years. After having both kids my husband and I decided to move closer to our hometown and we officially became Wellington Crusaders! Since moving here, I have had the opportunity to work in the middle school, fourth grade, fifth grade, and now third grade. I feel change is a good thing and that as long as I continue to learn myself I am able to offer a great environment for my students. I have also obtained my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Wichita State University.
I have always had a soft spot in my heart for educators. Both of my parents were teachers and my heroes. I have wanted to be a teacher since I was a third grader myself. I absolutely love what I do and try very much to carry that passion in to my classroom. I work to provide a mixture of activities, group projects, as well as individual work for my students. My goal in the classroom is to provide students the opportunity to gain knowledge through exploration. I pride myself in working to ensure that each child has the opportunity to reach his or her full potential while having fun learning in my classroom. I feel communication plays a vital part of this success and will work hard to see that you at home know what is happening in our room.
I look forward to a great year in 3rd grade!!
Thanks for taking time to look at the class webpage, and have a wonderful school year!
Hello! I'm Miss Jamison. This is my second full year teaching, and my first time teaching 3rd grade. I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Oklahoma State University (Go Pokes!). After finishing college, I taught for 1.5 years in Oklahoma.
I am originally from Caldwell, so I'm very excited to be closer to my family and hometown.
My family is a huge part of why I became a teacher in the first place. My dad, both of my older sisters, and lots of aunts, uncles, and cousins are educators, too. I've wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember, and I can't wait to share my enthusiasm for learning with my students.
When I'm not at school, you can find me coaching 7th grade girls volleyball in the fall, volunteering at my church, or spending time with my boyfriend, Colton, and our puppy, Ruby.
I believe communication between school and home is an integral part of a child's education, so feel free to contact me with any questions. I look forward to a great year with you!
